DO NOT USE YOUR PRODUCT UNTIL YOU HAVE READ THE TERMS OF THIS WARRANTY. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THE TERMS OF THIS WARRANTY, DO NOT USE THE PRODUCT.

IMPORTANT: By using your Alter products you are agreeing to be bound by the terms of the FIT Wind, LLC dba Alter (“Alter”) one (1) year limited warranty (the “Warranty”) as set out below.

What is covered by this Warranty?

Subject to the limitations and exclusions below, this Warranty applies only to valid Warranty claims on covered products as described herein (“Covered Products”) and only when such claims are made during the applicable Warranty period. The Warranty similarly only applies when the applicable Covered Product remains in the possession of the consumer who first purchased or a giftee who first received a new Covered Product directly from Alter or from an authorized reseller (collectively the “Original Purchaser”). If a giftee did not receive the Alter directly from us, they will qualify as the “Original Purchaser” pursuant to this policy if the giftee was the first user who completes Alter’s online account registration for the Covered Product. For the avoidance of doubt, there can only be one person to whom this warranty applies. This Warranty is not transferable.

This Warranty applies only to non-commercial, in-home use of the two Covered Products listed below, subject to the exclusions and limitations below. Any other use will void this Warranty. Proof of purchase is required as a condition to coverage under this Warranty, and the Covered Product requires an online connection to ensure full functionality.

  • Alter Screen (the “Screen”) – Alter warrants that the Screen, including the frame, LED screen, and all incorporated hardware elements, will be free from defects in materials and workmanship and will, under normal and intended use, function substantially in accordance with the Screen’s documentation and specifications for a period of 12 months from the date of original delivery.
  • Alter Signal (the “Signal”) – Alter warrants that the Signal provided by Alter will be free from defects in materials and workmanship and will, under normal and intended use, function substantially in accordance with the Screen’s documentation and specifications for a period of 12 months from the date of original delivery.

Alter, either on its own or through an authorized third-party partner (“Authorized Repair Partner”), will cover the labor costs and, if required, replacement part costs to repair or replace the Covered Products pursuant to a valid Warranty claim. Any Covered Product that is replaced or repaired will be warranted for the remainder of the original applicable limited warranty period or 30 days from the date of replacement or repair, whichever is longer, or for any additional period that is required by applicable law. During any covered warranty period or repair process under this limited warranty consumer will be refunded their membership fees for the applicable period.

Should you choose to have the Covered Product(s) repaired anywhere other than an Authorized Repair Partner, Alter shall not be responsible for damage done or additional repairs required based on use of unauthorized parts or repair methods. Alter may, at its sole discretion, fulfill any valid Warranty claim by providing a full refund of the price of purchase once the damaged or warranty item is returned to and received by Alter.


What Is Not Covered by the Warranty?

  • Any other Alter products or services, non-Alter products or services, labor, or products that are, or that Alter reasonably believes to be, stolen, counterfeit, or purchased from an unauthorized distributor or reseller, Covered Products purchased or used outside of the United States or Canada, or Covered Products that are missing or show signs of an altered serial number.
  • All Software, even if sold or licensed with, or embedded in, the Covered Products.
  • Any internet, wifi, or Bluetooth connectivity issues not caused by the Covered Products.

  • Products used for commercial, rental or other for-profit services.
  • Defects, damage, or failure arising from (i) normal wear and tear; (ii) improper or negligent installation, assembly, maintenance or use (including using or storing the Covered Products outside (or otherwise exposed to the elements) or in temperatures outside the recommended range on our Setup Instructions); (iii) repair other than as performed by an Authorized Repair Partner; (iv) use of the Covered Products with parts or accessories from third parties, or with parts or accessories not originally intended for or compatible with the Covered Products; (iv) any use contrary to or in breach of Alter’s Terms of Use or the instructions provided with the Covered Product, (v) accident, abuse, neglect, improper or abnormal use, corrosion, discoloration of paint or plastic (or any other change in cosmetic appearance that does not affect performance), (vi) theft, vandalism, fire, flood or other water damage, wind, lightning, freezing, or other natural disasters or acts of God of any kind, (vii) electrical wiring, power reduction, power fluctuation or power failure from whatever cause.
  • Any attempt to modify the components of the Covered Products or modify, delete, add, or install software not provided by Alter.
  • Alter’s Signal (and all other Alter products) are not waterproof and are not intended to be submerged in water. Swimming, wading, bathing and other activities that cause the Signal to be submerged will void the Warranty.
  • Alter is not responsible or liable for indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages, economic loss, loss of property or profits, loss of enjoyment or use, or other consequential damages of any nature whatsoever in connection with the purchase, use, repair, or maintenance of Covered Products. Alter does not provide monetary or other compensation for any repairs or replacement parts costs or transportation.
  • Alter does not warrant that the use or operation of the Covered Products will be uninterrupted or error-free.
  • Consumables, including batteries, are not covered by this Warranty.
  • Labor may no longer be covered by this Warranty if the Product is first purchased within the 48 contiguous United States, and later moved into Alaska or Hawaii by the Original Purchaser within the Warranty Period.
  • Anything not expressly mentioned in the What is Covered section above.

Where permitted by law and in an effort to reduce electronic waste, replacement units, 
parts and electronic components reconditioned to as-new condition by Alter or its vendors may sometimes be supplied as warranty replacement and constitute fulfillment of Warranty terms.

THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS THE EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY GIVEN BY ALTER AND SUPERSEDES ANY PRIOR, CONTRARY, OR ADDITIONAL REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES. ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY STATUTORY WARRANTY OR CONDITION OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE DISCLAIMED EXCEPT TO THE EXTENT PROHIBITED BY LAW. IN SUCH EVENT, THE WARRANTY IS LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THE WARRANTY PERIODS SET FORTH ABOVE. THIS EXCLUSION APPLIES EVEN IF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSES AND REGARDLESS OF WHETHER DAMAGES ARE SOUGHT FOR BREACH OF WARRANTY, BREACH OF CONTRACT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY IN TORT, OR UNDER ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW FOR THE DISCLAIMER OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES, SO SOME OR ALL OF THE ABOVE DISCLAIMERS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. THIS LIMITED WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER LEGAL RIGHTS, WHICH VARY FROM STATE TO STATE.


How do I obtain warranty service and what costs may apply?

  • To be eligible for service under this Limited Warranty you must provide Alter with the serial number of your Covered Product and the dated receipt, or other proof of purchase indicating the date purchased. Contact Customer Experience if you believe you need service support at support@alterme.com.
  • Claims must be made within the Warranty period.
  • If onsite service is deemed necessary the customer may be responsible for a minimal trip charge.
  • All repairs for warranty claims must be pre-authorized by Alter or its Authorized Repair Partner. If product is shipped to a customer service center all related freight charges to and from service center may be the customer’s responsibility.
  • If replacement parts are shipped while the product is under Warranty then customer may be responsible for handling charges.
  • If approved, all returned Screens must be packaged to afford individual mechanical protection and proper electrostatic discharge protection, so damage does not occur while the Screen is in transit to Alter. Please be sure to retain ALL your original packaging at the time of delivery for this purpose. If you have any concerns about adequate packaging, replacement packaging can be sent to you at an additional cost.
  • If a successful claim is made for a Screen that is covered by this Warranty within the Warranty Period, any shipping costs to return the relevant Screen to Alter will be at Alter’s cost.

Before any warranty claim is initiated, all users agree to work in good faith with Alter’s customer service agents to troubleshoot problems.

Any disputes between you and Alter related to this limited Warranty or the Covered Products will be governed by the then-current dispute resolution procedures in Alter’s Terms of Use. No Alter employee or representative is authorized to make modifications, extensions or additions to this Warranty.
